I’ve been reading a lot lately, so I figured I would do a few Mini-Reviews.
Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick
The second book of the Zoey Asche series by David Wong, this story picks up a few months after the first book. Zoey has begun to settle into her new life, and is now looked down upon as an elitist one percenter. When she is blamed for the murder of a criminal, a vigilante group seeks vengeance against her. It’s up to Zoey and her Team to solve the mystery of the real murder, and keep Zoey alive.
Critical Failures (books 1 to 5)
Written by Robert Bevan, the Critical Failures series starts with a group of Caves and Creatures players hiring someone off Craigslist to play Cavern Master and run a game. When they offend the Cavern Master, the man magically transports the group into the game!
Critical Failures has a lot of great characters and well plotted stories thrown in amongst a massive amount of immature dick and fart jokes. It starts simple with a handful of characters trying to get home, and grows more and more complex as more characters join the story and everyone splits up to do their own thing and find their own ways.
